Renowned sarangi nawaz KAMAL SABRI son of Ustad Sabri Khan visited Karachi and performed for Sampurna on April 16 and again on April 18. Kamal, who is the seventh generation of a distinguished family of traditional musicians, has demonstrated profound versatility in playing the Sarangi. Kamal was initiated and trained by his renowned father in the style of the Senia Gharana (school) of Rampur, Muradabad from the tender age of 5 years and very soon this child prodigy made waves in the musical world with his talent. His musical brilliance and talent as a seasoned accompanist gained immense popularity amongst eminent classical vocalists.

March 2008
Ustad Raees Khan & his son Farhan Khan, who make Pakistan proud, gave a mesmerizing and magical performance. Their much-awaited performance to a jam-packed audience, would be cherished for a long time to come. Born in 1939, Ustad Raees Khan belongs to a renowned family of musicians. He descends directly from the court musicians of Moghul emperors and is therefore the torch-bearer of a lineage that dates back to Haddu Khan and Hassu Khan. His father, Ustad Mohammed Khan started his son's ta'alim at the age of two by presenting him a small coconut-shell sitar. At the age of five he gave his first public performance. He holds a record for the longest uninterrupted sitar recital, at Delhi when he played continuously for eighteen hours.

Moumita Mitra, a well-known Indian Classical and semi-classical vocalist performed for Sampurna on Tuesday 25 March 2008. Born in 1980, a disciple of Lt. Pt. A.Kannan and Sri Anjan Majumdar, Moumita stood first in Khayal and Thumri gayekee in The DoverLane Music Competition in the years 2001 and 2004 respectively. Moumita is a National Scholarship holder from the year 2003, and has been conferred the title of "Adwitiya 2004" for becoming the winner in the Classical round of the music competition all over West Bengal.

February 2008
During February Sampurna thrilled its audiences once again through a recital performance by Saffia Beyg based on some of the most melodious Ragas: Des, Darbari & Bhairvi. The recital was followed by an interactive session with the audience to explain the basics of classical music.

January 2008
Sampurna gave its audiences a new year's treat by presenting one of the most prolific contemporary ghazal singers of Pakistan, Tina Sani. Tina sings with much ease the semi-classical genres of thumris and khayal, she is equally competent in the art of singing kafis and arifana kalaam, and is as impressive when singing Punjabi and Sindhi. She artistically combines knowledge of music with her deep love and understanding of Urdu poetry. Tina Sani has been singing and working under the able guidance of Saffia Beyg for the last few years improvising her music and giving it a whole new dimension.
