Sampurna arranged a baithak at Saffia Beyg's (popularly known as Apa) residence. It was indeed a memorable evening where Saffia Apa took people to another world with her singing talent. Those present agreed that she was at her best. She sang Aymen, Des, Jog, Shankara, Durga, Hans Dhuni and Bhairvi Raags, each with equal finesse. The audience enjoyed each momenf of the beautiful presentation.

October 2006
In keeping with the spirit of the month of Ramadan, Sampurna organized a qawwali, with Javed Bashir & troupe. Javed Bashir is the lead singer of Mekaal Hassan Band. Being a trained qawwal, together with his brother Akbar Bashir, they gave an electrifying performance. This was his first qawwali performance in Karachi.

August 2006
Sampurna organized two concerts in August – classical vocal recital by Sultana Rehman and Farzana Rashid (August 20), and Ustad Shahid Pervaiz (August 22), a living legend.

Sultana Rehman learnt classical music from Ustad Asad Ali Khan. She has spent 16 years learning khayal gayeki and dhrupat styles of traditional classical singing. Farzana Rashid is a senior member and staunch supporter of Sampurna. She has been learning khayal gayeki for the last 10 years.

Hailing from the famous lineage of the Etawah tradition, today Ustad Shahid Pervaiz is acknowledged as one of the finest sitar players alive and the torch bearer for the current generation. His mesmerizing playing was a perfect combination of gaiyaki ang (singing style) and tantrakari ang (instrumental style).

Sampurna organized a classical music evening with Saffia Beyg, Karam Abbas & Syed Nusrat Ali. Saffia Beyg, founder of Sampurna, an accomplished vocalist and teacher of classical music gave an enthralling performance. Karam Abbas, belongs to the Gwalior gharana and is the son of Ustad Ahmed Ali Khan. Syed Nusrat Ali, a highly talented vocalist who specializes in vintage songs, earlier performed at Sampurna's "Tribute to K.L. Saigol" program with his brilliant rendition of Saigol's songs.

April 2006
An enchanting video screening followed by a Sarod recital was organized by Sampurna. The Video presentation comprised of a live performance by two legendary musicians, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi & Ustad Rashid Khan with an introduction by the great Ustad Vilayat Khan. The Sarod recital was given by Pakistan's best known and brilliant sarod player, Asad Qizilbash.

Sampurna presented 'Mikaal Hasan Band' live in concert during March 2006. Mikaal with his deep study of music and the vocals of Riaz Ali Khan/ Javed Bashir and Muhammad Ahsan on his flute the band has been able to consistently keep their standards high and their music brilliant.

Member get-together
February 2006
Saffia Beyg held a dinner for members at her residence which was largely attended. Old and new members got an opportunity to interact and get to know each other. The dinner was followed by a performance by Saffia Beyg who enchanted the audience with her beautiful rendition of raags including bhairvi, kirvani and des.

Book launch & Qawwali
January 2006
The evening began with the launch of the book 'The Lamp of Love' by Amatullah Armstrong Chishti published by Oxford University Press. Ms. Chishti is an Australian born Sufi writer who works with the renowned Qawwals, Sabri Brothers. The launch was followed by Qawwali by Mehmood Sabri. Mehmood Sabri is the youngest brother of late Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri Qawwal and has been performing with his brothers for last almost 30 years.
